[California, US] Grammy-nominated mastering engineer, multi-gold & platinum music producer Donald XL Robertson is back with new music and jazzy vibes. A turnout production that shows us another perspective of this talented musician. Despierto Toda La Noche will be available to stream and buy on July 22nd, 2022.

After his most recent album, A Village Named Seneca, a very diverse production inspired by New York City culture and music scene, Donald’s surprised us with the spicy nostalgia of Despierto Toda La Noche. 11 instrumental songs ready to make you chill and enjoy through the vintage sounds of its music.

Jazz, Hip Hop, and R&B are the centers of Robertson’s sound. However, Despierto Toda La Noche has a few more colors that perfectly match the artist’s identity and reveal a new path on his musical adventure.

What’s the spicy nostalgia? Well, this album has something else beyond the swing and the cool Urban vibes. Despierto Toda La Noche also has a Latinx vibe that revolutionized its whole musical concept from the very beginning.

Suppose you start listening to the album from the first song, El Que es bendecido, which title has been given in Spanish, meaning The Blessed One. In that case, you will quickly recognize a unique sound that will transport you directly to the Cuban nostalgia of Miami Beach.

The syncopated bass line, musically called “tumbao,” is there, as well as the many Afrobeats sounds, reflecting that Donald is ready to show us new things in his musical career. Diversity seems to stay the essence of his music.

Despierto Toda La Noche is an excellent showcase of the perfect chill vibe, a savory mix of Latin, Afrobeats, R&B, and Jazz music. The album is available now exclusively on the XlProductionz website.

Who is Donald XL Robertson?

Donald Robertson -aka XL- is a producer and entrepreneur from New Orleans, LA. His experience gained over the years since his beginning in 1999 as an in-house for the record label No Limit has allowed him to work in essential productions with national and international recognition, including gold and platinum-selling albums from artists like Master PSilkk the ShockerC-Murder, and Snoop Dog

XL’s career with Master P’s No Limit was halted in 2001 by the terrible accident that provoked the death of his 22-year-old sister Traci. This event changed Donald’s life and musical route. That was when he decided to leave his hometown New Orleans and start a new pathway in California.

This tragic event, plus Donald’s 20 years of experience as a producer, gave him the base needed to start his company / digital record label XL Productionz, dedicated to the soul of his loved sister Traci. Some of XL’s produced and composed hits are Nolia Clap by Juvenile and Dollar Day by Mos Def.

Robertson’s talent has led to many music placements on popular television shows such as America’s Next Top Model, Run’s House, Pimp My Ride, Cribs, etc. XL has also released several albums like Strictly Business, Jumping Porches, Amplified & dance single Looking for a Grown Woman.
